Mission Statement

SVYCA is a youth-led nonprofit that empowers teens and young adults to combat climate change with impactful education and policy initiatives.

Engagement Opportunities

Of their 11 action teams, each one districted for a region, they do work specific by bring impactful change to their region. SVYCA brings youth together so they can get their voices heard together and create change.

What They Do

SVYCA is composed of 11 action teams from across the Bay Area that focus on specified local change in their respective region. They do a lot of work with policy, so far they've helped pass at least 20 different pieces of climate legislation on the local and state level. SVYCA also has adult mentors which provide their expertise and help ensure SVYCA works strategically. They also host many events such as climate workshops, climate speakers events, and their yearly SVYCA Youth Leadership Summit. This summit brings together high schoolers from the Bay Area for a day-long program to learn, ask questions, and meet fellow high school climate advocates.
